The Council for Economic and Development Affairs held a meeting in Riyadh on Monday under the chairmanship of Defense Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman, chief of the Royal Court and heard a presentation by the municipal and rural affairs minister on town planning and management.

“The municipal and rural affairs minister highlighted his ministry’s futuristic vision and strategic objectives,” said an official statement after the meeting, which was attended by senior Cabinet members including Finance Minister Ibrahim Al-Assaf and Water and Electricity Minister Abdullah Al-Hussayen.

The presentation touched on new developments in community development, new methods in building, management and operation of cities, balanced development of the Kingdom’s regions as well as small and big cities.

“After hearing the presentation, the council adopted a number of resolutions related to town planning and development,” the statement said.
