DAMMAM: Eastern Province Gov. Prince Saud bin Naif said the Kingdom will strive with all its powers and abilities to fight all attempts to undermine the security of the Kingdom.

The prince was speaking at the weekly meeting of the provincial council on Monday at the governorate.

Attending the meeting were officials and residents of the province, EP Agricultural Development Fund Director General Khaled Al-Dioli, as well as employees of the fund, and the agencies participating in Bait Al-Khair at the Janadriyah festival.

He said the state sought to support farmers and ranchers in order to achieve self-sufficiency of all basic human needs. He also cited the agencies participating in Beit Al-Khair at the 30th Janadriyah festival.

The governor chaired the first meeting of the Higher Committee for the Project of Public Transport in Qatif and Dammam. Those attending included Finance Minister Ibrahim Al-Assaf, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs Abdul Lateef Al-Asheikh, Transport Minister Abdullah Al-Muqbil and EP Mayor Fahd Al-Jubeir.

The governor briefed the officials with a visual presentation of the project and the phases of its implementation.

Prince Saud said: “Because of the population density in major Saudi cities, it is incumbent on the state to find other means of transportation instead of individual vehicles and with this in mind, the government has decided to establish a public transportation project in order to meet the needs of citizens.”

The prince received the director general of the Institute of Public Administration (IPA), Ahmad Al-Shuaibi, who presented a report on the work and activities of the IPA’s branch in the region during this year as well as its development and training programs.

The governor praised the IPA’s efforts in rehabilitation and training of civil servants and the administrative development of government institutions in all areas.
