A Court in the Eastern Province (EP) is pursuing the case of a health official accused of misusing his power by demanding complimentary gifts from his employees.

The Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution accused the former health director of “misusing his position to achieve personal gains.”

Eight counts of evidence were submitted against the defendant, including a statement from a doctor working at a health center who told the court how the official had asked her to provide him with perfume bottles.

Another doctor at the center claimed the defendant demanded her several times to prepare his breakfast and lunch, as well as providing him with perfume bottles in exchange of offering “a top rating” in the center’s annual performance report.
