JEDDAH: A former member of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (Haia), announced that he withdrew the lawsuit he had previously filed against a young man who assaulted him with a knife on the night of Eid Al-Fitr in three years ago.

At first, the assault was recorded as having been perpetrated by an anonymous person until the assailant was arrested two days ago while harassing some women at Abi Bakr Alsedeeq Street in Taif. The former Haia member, Majid Al-Malki, rushed to the incident scene to identify the young man the moment he was arrested and confirmed that he was the same person who stabbed him.

The young man denied his role the incident and, in view of his repeated denial, the former Haia member withdrew the complaint and forgave him.
