RIYADH: A Pakistani expatriate was executed on Wednesday morning for the murder of an Indonesian man and his wife, the Interior Ministry announced.

In a statement, the ministry said the Pakistani worker Jan Haji was arrested after he admitted to killing Soghnato bin Hado Karo and his wife Sowarati Woodistooti bint Kassadro. He had hit them with a blunt instrument and tried to burn their bodies.

A lower court found him guilty, with the ruling upheld by the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.
