RIYADH: The Riyadh Municipality has closed a fast food outlet here after its inspectors found it selling rotten burgers, according to a report.

Acting on information, the health inspectors raided the outlet and made the shocking discovery. The outlet also failed to produce the license to operate, Falah bin Abdullah Al-Dosari, the municipality’s director general of environmental health, was quoted as saying.

“All the burgers, which were also rotten, were seized to ensure that these don’t end up being consumed by anybody,” he said.

Al-Dosari stressed that the directorate is strict in the implementation of rules and regulations on business operations and public health in Riyadh’s 15 branch municipalities.

He also urged the public to inform the municipality about issues pertaining to public safety and health.
