The latest statistics of the Ministry of Justice reveal that approximately 415 women have filed "bad cohabitation" lawsuits against their husbands in the Kingdom's courts in the last six months. This is a 30 percent decrease relative to the same period in the previous year, where 595 cases were registered by women against their husbands.

The ministry's figures also show that about 127 men filed lawsuits against their wives for the same reason (i.e. "bad cohabitation"). This is also a 13 percent decrease on the previous year, which registered 146 complaints by men against their wives.

According to the ministry, there are some 40 clauses in the Kingdom's laws under which married couples can file lawsuits against their opposite numbers.
