MADINAH: The police here have arrested five citizens between the ages of 18 and 21 for breaking into a house and stealing a safe containing SR100,000, passports and land deeds.
A citizen in Al-Jarf had reported that someone had broken into his parents' house. An investigation was launched under Madinah police chief Abdulhadi Al-Shahrani, with the focus on a group of young men.
It was discovered that they worked together and their leader had a criminal record. The police arrested them and faced with the evidence, they confessed to the crime and took the police to the safe in a deserted area.
Meanwhile, the police arrested four Asians in a building in downtown Radwa Bay for manufacturing alcohol. A raid on the site revealed four large barrels of wine, manufacturing and distillation tools and 25 two-liter bottles ready for sale.
Fahd bin Al-Ghannam, spokesman of the police, urged the public to report crimes.
