JEDDAH: A gang of six Saudi men has been arrested for various crimes, including armed robbery and snatching women’s bags and stealing goods from malls, in Riyadh.

The suspects also allegedly used firearms to threaten people and workers at malls to commit robbery, a website reported on Sunday, quoting police sources.

Various police stations in central Riyadh had received a complaints from nationals and expatriates who were targeted by the gang. The suspects operated in various areas of Riyadh.

The directorate of patrolling and criminal investigation of the Riyadh police had formed a highly qualified team to analyze the complaints and the modus operandi of the criminals and identify them.

Investigators found a number of clues, revealing their method of committing crimes. The gang members reportedly distributed the booty among themselves after committing the crimes.
