JEDDAH: The General Presidency of the Committee of Prevention of Vice and Promotion of Virtue (Haia) has invited bids for a project related to its security and for its 100 branches, according to a source.

The presidency has set Feb. 20 as deadline for receiving the bids in sealed envelopes, which will be opened on the following day, the source added.

The move, it is stated, is part of the commission’s efforts to educate and train field workers for Haia.

Turki Al-Shaleel, official spokesman for Haia, which has signed an agreement with Umm Al-Qura University in this connection, clarified that the first of its kind initiative taken by Haia involves running diploma courses for newcomers.
