Yemeni expats in Saudi Arabia expressed their solidarity with the Kingdom and affirmed that they are well treated in their second home. A number of Yemeni residents launched a hashtag on Twitter — “I am Yemeni, and Houthis don’t represent me” — to clarify the stand of Yemeni expatriates toward Houthis.

Ali Ahmad Al-Amoudi, a Yemeni expat, declared his loyalty to the Kingdom, dismissing rumors about Saudis confronting Yemenis since Operation Decisive Storm began. “I was born and raised in the Kingdom, I learned in its schools and consider it as my second home. I am treated very well and with respect. Rumors about mistreatment of Yemenis are baseless,” he said.

Maher Abdullah Al-Qubaisi, another Yemeni resident, said his compatriots enjoy a respectful life in Saudi Arabia. Yemenis have been living alongside their Saudi brothers for a long time, thanks to the close traditions and customs of the two people, he stated.

For Jamal Bahabri, Yemenis who reside legally in the Kingdom are treated very well. He pointed out that Yemenis are among the earliest nationalities that came to the Kingdom since they came in the 1940s. They participated in the development process and were a role model for tolerance and moderation.

Yemeni expatriates launched hashtags on Twitter repudiating the Houthi actions and claiming that they don’t represent the Yemeni people.

Abdo Qasim said Yemeni expatriates will not sell their religion to Iran or to supporters of the deposed Houthi leader. “The Kingdom adopted Yemenis and provided them with comfortable and dignified life,” he said, adding: “We want to tell Houthis that we are against their foreign agenda and against them.”
