JEDDAH: The Ministry of Labor is closely working with Saudi embassies and consulates to end malpractices in the recruitment process by brokers and bring to book unlicensed offices abroad, an official has said.

“The ministry is making all efforts to prosecute violators of recruitment rules,” said Khaled Aba Al-Khail, general director of media at the ministry.

He urged the citizens not to deal with unauthorized individuals or offices for recruiting maids.

The ministry will continue to take appropriate action against violators, he said in remarks published in local media.

He said that cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has revealed that rules were being violated in the recruitment process of domestic workers in foreign countries.

Al-Khail stressed that the ministry is coordinating with authorities in monitoring violations.

Al-Khail said the ministry will continue to monitor recruitment offices and take appropriate action against unauthorized agencies.

“The ministry is working on giving licenses to 200 new recruitment offices that will enter the market in the next few months for fair competition,” he said.
