RIYADH: Al-Ahsa Gov. Prince Badr bin Mohammed bin Jalawi inaugurated on Monday a forum organized by the National Project for the Prevention of Narcotics (Nebras).

“The functions and programs of Nebras are in accordance with the efforts of the government in fighting drug addiction,” Prince Badr bin Mohammed said.

Nebras cooperated with the General Directorate for Drug Control in holding the event which showed a visual presentation on preventing drug addiction.

He lauded the idea and objectives in holding the forum as well as the establishment of a rehab center which specializes in drug addiction.

Abdullah bin Mohammad Al-Shariff, chairman of the National Project Management for Drug Prevention, thanked the prince for sponsoring the forum.

“The support for the project reflects the government’s keenness in the fight against drugs in all its forms,” he said.

During the forum, a workshop titled, “National strategy for the fight against drugs,” was also held.

“The efforts of different anti-drugs agencies collaborating in the fight against drugs were also discussed,” Al-Shariff said.

He added that the forum was part of the national project in the fight against drugs with the participation of many public and private agencies.

He said the success of the programs in the crackdown on drug addiction depends on the participation of all sectors of society.

A number of businessmen were honored for their support and contribution to the project.
