JEDDAH: Highlighting the national motto “Unity in Diversity,” the Consulate General of Indonesia in Jeddah took part in the “Annual International Day” organized by American International School-Jeddah (AISJ).

A one-day cultural event with the theme “Come join us in celebrating our diversity” was held on March 3 at the main soccer field of the school.

Indonesia highlighted Bali as the main attraction of the day and presented Tari Baris and Tari Pendet, both originating from Bali. The banners were decorated with tourist hotspots of Bali.

The Indonesian display booth was beautifully set up by the staff of Indonesian Consulate in Jeddah, students and teachers of Indonesian School of Jeddah and a squad from Indonesian Ladies Volunteers.

Artifacts, Indonesian currency notes, Burung Garuda, the National Emblem, attractive handmade dolls, Angklung, a traditional music instrument made from bamboo, were a major attraction at the event.

Documentary films on Indonesian tourism were also screened on the occasion. Visitors were warmly welcomed with tasty Indonesian traditional snacks.

Wearing flashy and colorful Balinese costume, the Indonesian dance squad attracted the attention of visitors who requested for personal snapshots.
