RIYADH: Secretary-General Houlin Zhao of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) on Sunday presented the ICTs in Sustainable Development Award to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman in Riyadh.

The citation read that the award was in recognition of the king’s outstanding contribution to the field.

Among those who attended the awards ceremonies were Minister of State and Cabinet member Musaed bin Al-Aiban, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Suwaiyel, Minister of Culture and Information Adel bin Zaid Al-Tarifi, and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Nizar Madani, and the director of the Arab regional office of theICT, Ibrahim Haddad.

The Geneva-based ITU is a specialized agency of the United Nations that is responsible for issues that concern information and communication technologies.
