JEDDAH: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has condemned the terror attack on several military checkpoints in Egypt’s North Sinai and expressed his condolences to President Abdel Fattah El-Sissi, SPA reported.

In a cable to El-Sissi, the king said: “We have learned with deep pain and sadness the news of the terrorist attacks that targeted a series of checkpoints in Sinai, which resulted in casualties and injuries, including a number of members of the Egyptian Armed Forces.

“We condemn these heinous criminal acts that are considered among the greatest crimes in Islam.”

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, also sent a similar cable to El-Sissi, condemning the attack while condoling the deaths of civilians and military men.

Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, second deputy premier and defense minister, called Gen. Sedki Sobhi, Egypt’s defense minister, and offered his condolences.
