JEDDAH: Civil Defense teams have recovered the body of a man who was electrocuted inside a water tank.

Col. Saeed Sarhan, spokesman of the Civil Defense in Makkah, said a report was received at 10 a.m. on Wednesday that a man had fallen into a water tank in a villa in Al-Rehaily neighborhood in the north of the province.

Rescue teams that arrived on the scene found the man inside the tank, which was about 3.5 meters deep and 6 meters wide. There was very little water in the tank, but an electric cable was found inside it that caused the tragedy, Sarhan was quoted as saying by a local publication.

Members of the Red Crescent who arrived on the scene failed to revive him. His body was taken to a local hospital for further procedures.
