RIYADH: The Special Criminal Court in Riyadh convicted a citizen on Sunday of producing and disseminating seditious material. He was also convicted of taking hashish.

The man was sentenced to six years in prison on both counts.

The man was convicted of posting material on YouTube involving incitement against the king, according to the Okaz daily.

The judge ordered that his term of imprisonment will begin from the time of his arrest on April 7, 2014.

The judge also sentenced him to 80 lashes for smoking hashish and slapped a travel ban on him.
