Due to the ongoing “Operation Decisive Storm,” the Health Ministry has unveiled a comprehensive emergency health plan in the southern part of the Kingdom near the Yemen border.

The new plan was initiated following a proposal made by Health Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb , who is currently visiting the Asir, Jazan, Najran, Wadi Dawasir and Abha regions.

Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Khaled Al-Mirghalani told Arab News that groups of integrated teams comprising medics and paramedics have been formed under the plan to provide emergency treatment.

He said that the health minister is personally checking equipment, personnel and stocks of medicine needed for these emergency operations.

Al-Mirghalani said that the minister ensured that all facilities have adequate units of blood for any needs which may arise. He also said that these facilities will operate on a 24/7 hour plan.

Decisive Storm, which was launched on Thursday, continued on Friday. According to Al-Mirghalani, no casualties have so far been reported.

In a statement on Twitter, Health Minister Al-Khateeb said that his ministry has made all arrangements needed for this emergency plan on account of the ongoing operation against the Houthi rebels in Yemen.
