JEDDAH: The Labor Ministry is working with business owners, workers and job seekers in the retail sector to finalize the work hours in the sector.

A workshop in this regard was held recently in Riyadh, which was attended by Deputy Labor Minister Ahmad bin Saleh Al-Humaidan and ministry’s Director-General Mohammad Bin Fahd Al-Essa, among others.

The workshop sought participation of those in the labor market to develop a healthy environment in the retail sector to attract male and female Saudi labors with the aim to limit expatriate workers there.

Al-Humaidan said the ministry is doing everything it can to involve all relevant parties to help organize the labor market and achieve greater nationalization of jobs in the private sector.

He said the ministry wants to hear the opinions of business owners and male and female workers in the retail sector and seeks to listen to their points of view and experiences on the issue of work hours, or any other recommendations.

Al Humaidan noted that these opinions will help the Ministry to make the right decisions when pursuing nationalization of the work force by investing in the retail sector, according to Al Youm.
