JEDDAH: Abdul Rahman Al-Yahya, director general of the Passport Department, announced that plans to set up a one-stop border crossing post at King Fahd Causeway have been postponed.

The plans were postponed because negotiations and the testing were delayed.

During his tour to the causeway, Al-Yahya said that a new mechanism is to be implemented to help ease the long queues at the crossing included filling out a form ahead of traveling at Absher system in order to limit procedures on the causeway to quick checks.

He added that more electronic stands will be erected soon, all in an effort to reduce congestion at the check-in booth.
