TABUK: A Saudi and an African worker died today in an artesian well at the Ashwaq center of Dhaba in Tabuk. The Civil Defense team recovered the bodies from the well, according to an online newspaper.
The Civil Defense branch in Tabuk received information about two men being trapped inside the well. Rescue teams were rushed to the spot and with the help of two divers the bodies were recovered.
Col. Mamdooh Al-Anzi, spokesman of the Civil Defense, said the incident took place when the Saudi, owner of the well, and the African worker were trying to restart the suction motor inside the eight-meter-deep well. But a fire broke out injuring both of them and they died due to suffocation.
The bodies were recovered and handed over to the Al-Deesa police.
