A posse of policemen successfully managed to control a fight that broke out on Monday in Rafha. Police fired in the air to break up the brawl.

Northern Border police spokesperson Col. Aweed Al-Inizi said in a statement that at eight o'clock in the evening, a fight broke out in Rafha resulting in the gathering of many nationals and expatriates at the scene.

A patrol car was in the vicinity at the time of the incident, and proceeded to try and control the fight. Out of fear that a dangerous accident or injury may occur, one of the officers was forced to fire two bullets in the air as a warning to control what was happening on the ground.

After this, he said, he and his colleagues were able to control the brawlers and forced them to disperse.

The officers arrested some of those involved.
