The Ministry of Interior announced the success of its strategic plan to implement e-governance across various platforms. The plan was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Crown Prince and Interior Minister Prince Mohammed bin Naif.

One of the main goals Prince Mohammad had in mind when introducing this system was to ease all the bureaucratic procedures for citizens and residents, allowing them to carry out some of these tasks from the comfort of their homes.

Most of the departments have achieved a great success, changing the concept of in-person customer to the concept of a client, and then a guest. The ministry has established more than 38 centers employing 200 workers, thus sharply reducing the waiting time for citizens.

One of the main services the ministry offers to citizens online now is the renewal of licenses and general information inquiries.

Other services to be launched soon replacement of destroyed or lost car plates.

A new statistic revealed that the number of traffic licenses printed out since the launch of the e-services stood at 907,230, while the number of renewed licenses reached 232,711.

The General Directorate of E-Services at the Passport Department had a strong public response, with the number of subscribers in the Passport Department reaching 4 million people, with almost a million-and-a-half online transactions since the service was established.

With its Abshir services for residents, the Passport Department enables citizens, residents, firms and companies to end the majority of the required procedures with ease and accuracy without the need to visit any department offices.
