RIYADH: The Saudi cultural attaché in Canada, Ali Al-Bishri, will be taking part in various activities as part of the Saudi International Medical Education Conference to be held at Al-Faisal University next month.

A source in the embassy said that more than 1,000 Saudi doctors and physicians, both male and female, will undergo training in Canada in various disciplines.

Mohammed Al-Ghamdi, head of the Supervision Department for Scholarships, said that such workshops seek to educate Saudi doctors and medical students about the requirements for admission to Canadian medical training programs.

This will also help them to join a number of medical training programs related to the training of graduates at Canadian medical universities and hospitals.

At the conference, Al-Ghamdi is expected to highlight the history and successes of Saudi doctors who have undergone training in Canada during the past four decades.

Al-Bishri thanked the Ministry of Education and the Saudi Embassy in Canada for their constant support for the cultural attaché and for the Saudi scholarship program.

He said that trained Saudi doctors in various Canadian programs are a source of pride for the Kingdom and should be commended for their outstanding achievements.
