RIYADH: The largest women's university in the world, Princess Nora bint Abdulrahman University (PNU) in Riyadh, will be hosting its first Global Conference and Exhibition for Training and Development here next week.

The three-day event comes as part of PNU's efforts to hold scientific conferences, seminars and cultural events that contribute to the development of human resources and the promotion of advanced skills in the Kingdom.

"These kinds of events seek to meet the challenges of our times and contribute to the creation of a bright and safe future," according to PNU Rector Huda Al-Ameel.

At a press conference on Wednesday, Al-Ameel said that the university is seeking to harness all potential to support the movement toward meaningful higher education among women in the Kingdom.

“Such programs also work to enhance the efficiency of PNU's outputs to meet the ambitious aspirations reflected in the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the education of women in our country,” she observed.

“The Saudi women's university always strives for excellence and is making a firm footprint in higher education for women through the application of best-practice principles to integrate education, research, participation and social responsibility values into one learning experience,” Al-Ameel told reporters.

She also noted that PNU maintains a strategic line of academic programs, and said that the application of knowledge and educational partnerships with distinctive higher education institutions in various countries around the world is key to the university's success.

According to the Dean of Skills Development at the institution, Abeer Al-Harbi, the conference will be held under the aegis of Minister of Education Azzam Al Dakhil.

The event at the PNU’s convention center is running from Oct. 19 to 21 and will feature various scientific presentations based on concepts related to development, training and management.

The conference will involve a series of workshops for both men and women provided by local specialists with both Arab and global expertise and experience.
