Pakistan maintains close ties with Saudi Arabia. Pakistan’s relations with Saudi Arabia are historically close and extremely friendly.

Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are keen to develop extensive commercial, cultural, religious, political and strategic relations.

On January 15-17, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited Riyadh and met Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Salman, who was then the crown prince, Prince Miteb bin Abdullah and other members of the royal family.

The prime minister inquired about the health of King Abdullah, who was hospitalized at the time.

On January 23, the premier attended the funeral of the late King Abdullah.

On March 4, the prime minister visited Saudi Arabia on the invitation of King Salman.

He held a meeting with King Salman and both leaders discussed issues of common interest.
