JAZAN: The Al-Idabi Municipality in Jazan shut down a restaurant after eight customers complained they had fallen ill with food poisoning.

Salem bin Yehya Al-Khalidi, head of the municipality, said he had launched an investigation after receiving a report about the cases. It was found that the restaurant had stored the food in an incorrect manner.

He said the restaurant owner would be fined and the eatery not opened until all investigations are complete. Other shops are also under scrutiny, he said.
