On the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey, it is a great pleasure for me to address Turkish citizens living in Saudi Arabia and our Saudi brothers through Arab News.

The proclamation of the Republic of Turkey in 1923, after the victory against the occupying powers, opened the ways for our country to become a land of progress and modernity.

By maintaining her targets in the last 92 years and by sustaining the principles set forth during the foundation of the Republic, Turkey now stands as a country with a stable democracy, a dynamic economy, a vibrant civil society and a rich cultural life.

I believe that it is the shared mission of every Turkish citizen to nourish our Republic.

Turkey’s unique location between East and West, as well as North and South, has been a central feature affecting her history, culture and politics.

Turkish nation has cultural, historic and social ties with all nations in the region, particularly with the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia.

Turkey and Saudi Arabia have been able to enhance their exemplary ties of friendship in recent years.

The bilateral relationship between the two countries with shared common vision and values is now qualified as a strategic partnership.

This partnership is a key in promoting and preserving regional peace, security and stability.

In the spirit of their partnership, Turkey and Saudi Arabia cooperate closely on regional and international issues.

This cooperation is today more relevant and crucial than ever.

I am confident that Turkey and Saudi Arabia will both gain more by deepening their relations, especially by expanding their economic and commercial cooperation.

On this great day on which we commemorate Ataturk, founder of the Republic, his comrades and the martyrs with immense gratitude and compassion and wish a glorious anniversary to the Republic of Turkey, I convey my best wishes to the well-being, prosperity and friendship of the Turkish and Saudi peoples.
