RIYADH: The Physically Adult Disabled Association (PADA) will be hosting its sixth annual mass marriage ceremony of 208 disabled Saudi boys and girls soon, under the patronage of Riyadh Gov. Prince Faisal bin Bandar.

The event will be held at the King Fahd Cultural Center for men, followed by a similar event for women at the Intercontinental Hotel in the capital.

Nasser Al Mutawa, chairman of PADA, expressed his appreciation to Prince Faisal who is the honorary president of the association for his continued support.

Al-Mutawa also hailed the role played by Social Affairs Minister Majid Al-Qassabi in providing all possible help to the charity program.

“The precious category of our dear people needs care and support from the community,” said Abdul Rahman Al-Baahili, the executive director of the Association.

The association looks forward to the community support that will enable the physicall disabled to play a role in society, he said.

Al-Baahli said the help extended to the disabled so below expectations. “Hence, we seek further efforts to support them in various fields.”

According to him, the mass marriages project comes within the framework of programs for disabled people aged 15 years and above. “We also take into account their interests to integrate them into society, offering them help for things such as home furnishing and medical care for children.”

Al-Baahli said that as many as 852 people have benefited from mass marriages. The association strives to help people with disabilities through the specialized programs with the support of businessmen and philanthropists, he added.
