JEDDAH: The Special Criminal Court has sentenced a citizen to 15 years in jail and a travel ban for an equal period, for helping to organize and participate in rallies against the state.

The court found him guilty of taking photographs of these events and posting them on Twitter, writing seditious slogans on currency notes, and putting up protest posters on various buildings including schools.

He was also found guilty of declaring the government a “deviant” entity, supporting the Daesh terrorist group, harboring people who went to fight in Syria, and keeping contact with them on Twitter. He was further convicted of helping to hide a person who participated in protest rallies.
