RIYADH: Specialized Clinics Arabia (SCA) treated a total of 9,220 Syrians at the Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan during the month of January 2016, according to Dr. Hamid Mufalana, SCA medical director.

“Many of the patients were children who were given proper treatment in accordance with their health conditions,” the SCA medical director said.

He pointed out that the “special climatic changes in the region have had a significant role in the decline of public health levels in the refugees, particularly the children.”

Dr. Badr bin Abdulrahman Al-Samhan, regional director of the Saudi National Campaign to Support the Brothers in Syria (SNCSBS), said that “one of the main pillars adopted by SNCSBS is humanitarian work.”

“We have focused on the provision of health, both curative as well as preventive services, for young children through various programs,” he said.

He added that “our campaign has worked on these programs, developed in line with modern medical technology, to serve our brother Syrian refugees.”

He said their campaign “is constantly striving to develop relief efforts and give attention to the medical side.” “Our campaign continues throughout the day to provide the best medical services that we can render,” he said.

He added that “we thank the Saudi leadership, headed by Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman, for the continuous support so that we can carry out our mission.”

He also thanked the Saudi people for their government’s humanitarian and unstinted support for the medical missions to help Syrian refugees.

“We hope and pray that in return, the Saudi leadership and the Saudi people in general will be blessed for their generosity and humanitarian efforts in helping Syrian refugees,” he said.
