JEDDAH: Last week’s rainfall has resulted in 61 badly flooded areas in Jeddah across several neighborhoods, according to a report in a local publication recently.

This includes King Faisal Street, the Marine Sciences Roundabout, warehouses of the city’s chamber of commerce, Al-Sanabel neighborhood, Al-Ajaweek Street and Old Makkah Road.

Other areas include some streets in the Al-Adl neighborhood next to the Saudi Electricity Company office, Prince Majed Street in Al-Safa, Bani Malik underpass, Al-Ajwad road, Humaida Al-Ibrahimi road, Moawiya Al-Salami road in Al-Ajwad, Abdullah bin Atah road, and Ismael bin Aws street in Al-Samer neighborhood.

There was also significant flooding in Nofal bin Al-Harith, Waheeb bin Omeir, Qais bin Zuhair, Al-Manar, Bakhashab and Ghleil streets. Other areas affected include King Abdulaziz Street, Bsheish Square, Al-Andalus Street, Al-Falah Square, Gold Street, King Khalid Street and Airport Road intersection, King Fahad Street intersection with Makkah Street, King Fahad Street intersection with Gaza Road, and Abdullah Balkhair street next to the Passport Department office.

There have been significant amounts of water found in the Al-Salimiya neighborhood, Al-Ain scheme in Abdullah Al-Baroum Street, Al-Nakheel neighborhood, Quwaizah neighborhood, Abeid scheme, Jack Street, and Kilo 11, 13 and 14.

Other affected areas are Al-Macarona Street, Al-Sitteen Street in Al-Bawadi neighborhood, Al-Nakheel neighborhood, Um Al-Khair scheme, Al-Rihab Street, Al-Arbaeen Street, Al-Safa neighborhood next to the Crystal Hall, Al-Aziziya Street and King Fahad Road next to the court.

In addition, there was severe flooding in Al-Arbaeen Street in Bani Malik neighborhood, Al-Falak street, Al-Faisaliya neighborhood, Rayhana Street, Al-Rawada road next to the specialist hospital, Dalah street in Al-Rihab neighborhood, and a road next to Al-Tahliya Street.

The rainfall also saw pools of water left behind in front of the train station on the Al-Haramain Road between Palestine Street and King Abdullah bridge, Kilo 7, Bin Laden Street next to Prince Miteb Market, Prince Majed intersection with Palestine Road and Al-Batarji Street with Prince Sultan Street.
