MOSCOW: A delegation of the foreign affairs committee of Shoura Council met Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov. Saudi Ambassador Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim Al-Rassi was also present at the meeting. The Shoura panel delegation, headed by Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Dawood, is currently on a visit to Russia.

During the meeting, Al-Dawood stressed the importance of Russia’s role in confronting Iranian terrorism, as Tehran’s interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries constitutes a destructive element to peace efforts being exerted by the international community in the region.

Bogdanov said that the phone call by President Vladimir Putin to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman on the Russian-American agreement on Syria reflects the extent of Russian interest in briefing the leadership of the Kingdom on the details of the agreement and listen to the Saudi viewpoint.
