RIYADH: The executive judges at Saudi courts have disclosed that the total financial claims made during the past four months stood at SR34.52 billion.
According to a source, financial claims since the start of the activation system three years ago were to the tune of SR118.18 billion. The claims last year in the same period stood at SR4.75 billion out of total claims of SR49.96 billion.
“These amounts represent 74,824 cases of the total 310,523 financial claims. These cases were resolved by 199 judges orders.”
Fahad Al-Hassoun, a former judge, said that the implementing courts have put an end to many financial delays and manipulation of the rights of others by taking strong measures.
“Some of these measures aimed at speeding up payments, including preventing the debtors from traveling, disclosure of funds licenses and records of his business,” he said, adding that debtors were also made to declare their assets and that of their children.
“Restricting the debtors and forcing them to stop issuing instruments of power of attorney prevent government agencies and financial establishment to deal with him, and finally imprisonment,” said Al-Hassoun.
