RIYADH: The Saudi Accredited Authority for Accredited Valuers (Taqeem) is currently conducting the first-ever training program in the Kingdom for real estate evaluators until Oct. 18.

The training program being held at Taqeem headquarters in Riyadh is titled, “Expropriation of real estate for public utility.”

Essam bin Hamad Al-Mubarak, Taqeem secretary-general said: “The training is important because of the massive projects for the Kingdom’s infrastructure.”

“Many of the lands for these projects may need expropriation and the help of real estate evaluators,” he said. “This motivated us to hold the training program and make associates and trainees knowledgeable about the best practices in real estate expropriation in the Kingdom.”

He added that the program aims at providing comprehensive understanding of the expropriation law on real estate for public utility, temporary seizure of property and applying it in the Kingdom.

“We can benefit from the most successful international expertise and experience in valuation practices in the Kingdom … the training program will generate experts from the Kingdom and trainers from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS),” he said.

He added that to facilitate registration for the program, Taqeem has launched a website for courses, tests and other related activities in real estate evaluation.

He also said that the website works through the electronic services of Qema as an electronic window provided and developed by Taqeem which allows those who benefit from its services to create their own files.
