JEDDAH: The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTNH) will not support any tourism or heritage project that fails to provide job opportunities to Saudi nationals, Prince Sultan bin Salman, chairman of of the commission, has said.

“The commission was trying to support tourism projects for their role in creating jobs and making huge transformation in the regions,” Prince Sultan said.

Tourism is the second biggest creator of jobs in the Kingdom after the banking sector, he pointed out.

SR100 million loans are available for tourism projects with certain terms and conditions, said Prince Sultan.

On Friday, the prince concluded his visit to Al-Ula, where he inaugurated a number of tourism projects and visited some heritage sites in Al-Ula.
