JUBAIL: The Urdu Lovers Club Jubail (Gosha-e-Adab) celebrated the launch of a book of poetry by Dr. Sajjad Syed from Delhi here recently.

The launch of the work, entitled “Kuch Kaar-e-Sukhan Aur,” was attended by prominent members of the expatriate community. Mukarram Ali Khan of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), presided over the function. Nafis Tarin, Meraj A. Ansari, Syed Waheed Lateef, Khurshid Anwer and Urdu poet from Pakistan Iqbal Qamar were the guests of honor.

Equbal Wajid, a Jubail-based critic of Urdu literature, opened the event and outlined the manner in which Sajjad Syed’s poetry sheds light on the realities of life. Iqbal Qamar spoke about Sajjad Syed’s poetry and said the community was honored to host him. Sajjad Syed thanked the guests and said it was wonderful to see so many lovers of Urdu at the event.

Other poets from Dammam, Alkhobar and Jubail thrilled the audience with their work, including Equbal Wajid, Syed Iqbal Talib, Ziyaur Rehman Siddiqi, Saqib Jaunpuri, Syed Baqar Naqvi, Syed Jamil, Abdul Saleem, Khalid Siddiqi and Shiraz Mehdi Zia.

Mukarram Ali Khan appreciated Gosha-e-Adab for organizing an interesting event.
