RIYADH: The various villages and governorates of Al-Kharj province in the Central Region have been linked with the establishment of four new electric substations.

It also means a savings of SR38 million spent annually in the purchase of electricity from contractors, according to the National Company for Electricity Transmission (NCET).

The NECT is a subsidiary of the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC).

The company said that linking the villages and governorates was accomplished in two years at a cost of SR127 million.

The company also said that the project is expected to contribute significantly to the stability and reliability of the electricity grid during the summer.

The company added that it faced a number of difficulties but cooperation by the authorities in providing the needed facilities enabled it to accomplish the project.

The company expressed its gratitude to the employees who made a lot of effort by working 14 hours a day during the project implementation.
