The Saudi judiciary has enabled a man to see his daughter again, after forcing his ex-wife to allow him visitation rights.

The executive court in Jeddah ordered the imprisonment of a Saudi mother after she refused to implement the associated court order which would allow her ex-husband to see their daughter.

These developments came after the father filed a complaint with the executive judge, who in turn forced the mother to allow visitation rights to the father for a number of hours every week.

In its ruling, the executive court stated that if the new order is not implemented, the procedures stipulated in Article 74 will be taken against the woman.

The article stipulates that the executive judge will choose how to implement the ruling of minor visitation rights, unless the ruling states otherwise. The article also states that the visitation should be done in a public place. Further, the court threatened to apply article 92 of the executive list which stipulates that the executive judge can imprison for a maximum of three months any parent who obstructs the implementation of a custody or visitation ruling.

In accordance with this, the system also grants the judge the right to imprison any person who abstains from implementing judicial rulings, in addition to maintaining the right to imprison those who resist implementation or delay it. In support of this, the court has now ordered the imprisonment of the mother of the child for her obstruction of justice in this case.
