JEDDAH: Team Honda scored a seven-wicket win over My Care Hala to become the MoneyGram Cricket Ke Badshah Champions League champion in the Saudi Cricket Center organized tourney played at the Western Province Cricket Association Eskan ground.

The highlight of the day was Afaq Ahmed’s match winning unbeaten innings of 73 for Team Honda, which came off 50 balls.

In the other match played for the third position, Pak Shaheen XI trounced Pak National by seven wickets.

My Care Hala opted to bat first posted 191 for 8. Shahbaz Rasheed top-scored with 75 off 50 balls. Qamar Abbas (35), Amjad (21), Babar Hussain (14) and Kashif Shafeeq (10) were the other run getters. Salman grabbed 2 for 35, Khawar Abbas, Zahid and Kashif took a wicket each.

Team Honda after a shaky start achieved the victory target and scored 192 for 7 with three balls to spare.

Afaq Ahmed and Mohsin (61 not out) were involved in a 136-run unbeaten partnership for the fourth wicket. Adnan Liyaqat and Jameel took a wicket each.

Arshad Chohan and Osama Nadwi were the umpires for the final.

In the match for the third place Pak National batted first and posted 110 for 9 in the allotted overs. Tahir Mushtaq (31) and Adil Khan (23) were the main scorers. Fahad took 3 for 26 and Abdulazeez 2 for 26. Abdulsalam and Abdulwahab shared 2 wickets.

Pak Shaheen in reply reached the winning target of 114 for 3 off 51 balls.

Abdulwaheed (22), Abrarulhaq (45), Aashiq (15) and Faisal Khan (23) steered their team to victory. Mohammed Asif bagged 3 for for 9 runs. The match was supervised by Waseeq Sherwani and Atta-Ur-Rehman.

Kashif Raza of Team Honda was handed over the winners’ trophy, Babar Hussain of My Care Hala took the runner-up cup and Khawar Abbas of Pak Shaheen was given the third place trophy.

Kashif Shafeeq was the Man-of-the-Tournament while Afaq Ahmed of Team Honda won the Man-of-the-Match award.

The umpires, scorers and match referees were rewarded for their services.
