BMG Financial Group is hosting a business forum to discuss the upcoming opening of the Saudi stock market (Tadawul) to global financial institutions, in Gloucestershire, the UK, on Sunday.
Officials, financial experts, and local and international executives will be among the participants at the interactive forum on the impact of global institutional investors in stabilizing the Saudi stock market.
The aim of the forum, being organized in association with the international publishing group, Institutional Investors, is to enrich awareness and understanding of the regulatory and economic impact of this strategic transition of the Saudi stock market, which is to take place in June.
Basil Al-Ghalayini, CEO of BMG Financial Group, confirmed that chief executives of several financial and joint stock companies are invited to participate in the forum, in order to meet with a number of portfolio managers of emerging markets for a possible inclusion of Saudi companies to their long-term investment portfolios.
Attendees and guest speakers include Saudi Arabia’s financial policy makers, prominent business leaders and international investors. Among them are Mutlaq H. Al-Morished, executive chairman of National Industrialization Co. (Tasnee); Machaal Karam, CEO, United Cooperative Assurance Co. (UCA); Mohammed Al-Sabban, international consultant and former oil minster adviser, as well as senior political adviser and Hussain Shobokshi, expert on international affairs media, among others.
In addition to portfolio managers affiliated with international companies, will be Mazin Al-Sudairy, head of research, Al-Istithmar Capital, who will speak on his vision for the positive impact of opening up the Saudi stock market to foreign investors.
Additionally, in continuation to previous forums, which focused on the conversion of family businesses to joint stock companies, discussion will be held on the most important challenges facing family businesses during the transition. This discussion will be led by Ali Reza, who represents the fifth generation of Haji Hussein Ali Reza Company, and Amr Zedan, managing partner of Zedan Group.
