Malaysia is showcasing its services at an exhibition it is holding in conjunction with the Saudi Building and Interiors Exhibitions (SBIE) at The Jeddah Center for Forums and Events from May 11-14

Organized by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), the Malaysia Services Exhibition (MSE) — the MSE Jeddah 2015 — aims to facilitate the Malaysian exporters to forge more business partnerships and joint ventures with the local businesses in Saudi Arabia and to continue enhancing the awareness and visibility of Malaysian service providers in the Saudi markets.

Apart from the exhibition, 169 business matchings have been arranged with Saudi companies, in addition to meetings with the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), Saudi contractors and visits to project owners.

This MSE program will be MATRADE's second participation in the SBIE event via the MSE platform. Last year, MSE Jeddah 2014 facilitated a total of $243.3 million worth of businesses for Malaysian companies and assisted several business collaborations between Malaysians and Saudi companies.

The 2014 SBIE also recorded over 200 exhibitors and 15,000 trade visitors ranging from international companies, leading manufacturers, agents, distributors and a wide spectrum of high profile professional visitors from across Saudi Arabia and its neighboring Gulf States. Many more participants and trade visitors are expected this year, in line with the aggressive development plan of the Kingdom.

A total of 18 Malaysian companies with 33 representatives have confirmed their participation in the MSE Jeddah 2015, comprising players from the construction industry, project management firms, architectural firms and suppliers of building materials and electrical and electronics for residential and industrial applications.

Services and products to be promoted during this MSE include construction, engineering, architectural, project management, landscaping works including playground design and installation, customized solar panel systems, switches, cable boxes, sockets, safety films, switchboard enclosures, aluminum pipes and fittings.

In terms of trade, bilateral trade relations between Malaysia and the Kingdom increased significantly from $260 million in 1990 to $4.019 billion in 2014.

MATRADE Jeddah is also organizing a Malaysian health care delegation visit to Riyadh in conjunction with Saudi Health 2015, which is being held from May 18 to 20.
