Saleh & Abdulaziz Abahsain launched a high-tech LUXGEN brand car in Saudi Arabia on Nov. 20. The new car is to be positioned in market as an affordable luxury brand SUV & MPV. The Saudi market for years has been dominated by American and Japanese brands in the automotive sector. The trend has shown a change in the recent years as the percentage of the European and Korean brands are on the rise. The introduction of LUXGEN as a luxury brand is to cater the trend of the changing market.

Abdullah Abahsain, CEO of Abahsain Group of Companies, welcomed the chief guest, Taiwanese Ambassador Lin Jinn-Jong.

After a formal introduction by Syed Khawaja Maqsood, senior director Abahsain Group, welcomed the guests and presented a brief history of Abahsain and praised the success of its automotive division.

The Taiwanese ambassador spoke about the importance of Saudi market to the Taiwanese economy.

Abahsain Automotive Division’s Country Manager Mohammed Atif told a press briefing: “We are introducing two models — a SUV and a MPV — both available with seven seats of different trim versions.

“Both LUXGEN models are based on high performance low consumption technology. Turbo engines and are programmed to ‘think ahead’ for their users to recognize road conditions and avoid potential hazards.”

The name comes from a combination of luxury and genius and the brand incorporates Taiwan’s renowned information technology and advanced energy technology.

LUXGEN SVP Vincent Tsao said: “We want to offer the people in Saudi Arabia engineering excellence and technical innovation at a reasonable price.”

The vehicle also incorporates a comprehensive integrated automotive information platform called LUXGEN Think+, created in partnership with IT major HTC.

“It takes advantage of advances in intelligent and speed to create a vehicle that can truly think for itself," Tsao added.

Jeffery Chen, GM, LUXGEN, gave a presentation on LUXGEN products, brand and technology.

LUXGEN is claimed to be the world’s first automobile with intelligent technology. Not only LUXGEN is the first self-developed vehicle brand from Taiwan, but also is a “world class vehicle."
