Makarem Sobhi Batterjee, businessman and CEO of Gulf Youth, has signed an agreement with Tamkeen company, which aims to support 1,000 young workers across Saudi Arabia by giving them the franchise rights and training in commercial areas for seven years.
On behalf of Tamkeen, its CEO Abdullah Ahmad Abu Al-Nasr signed the deal. The signing ceremony took place at the end of Youth Business Exhibition held in Jeddah. Al-Nasr appreciated the efforts of Batterjee for supporting the cause of youth affairs.
Makarem, assured that he will strive to support young people and work toward helping them achieve their goals and vision. He added that youth will be supported by Spark company, which will give them car wash equipment and enable them to own the same in cooperation with Tamkeen company, under the supervision of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The chamber will in turn help them with the license for using car washing places to be used free of rent. This will facilitate creating opportunities for young people to work and earn a living.
Batterjee added that such youths through their hard work can earn SR26,000 per month. There will be cooperation between Shababko company under which they will work and charitable companies of Youth Service, which does not aim for profit but provide service for young people by encouraging them to work with small-scale projects
Improving the living standard of young people in Saudi Arabia has been the concern of many of those interested in the affairs of sustainable development in the Kingdom.
With a view to giving the youth the franchise rights and training in different business areas and marketing of products of such Gulf enterprises, an agreement was also signed to support 1,000 youth workers in the UK for a period ranging from 5 to 7 years.
