Batterjee Medical College for Science and Technology (BMC) launched the new expansion of its dental clinics, including 54 new clinics, besides the previous ones, to provide a total of 94 clinics fully equipped with the latest tools and instruments in dental technology.

Dr. Osama Abu Al-Naga, medical director of dental clinics, explained that the clinics are equipped with the latest machines and support services, which include the reception, e-files department, panoramic and CT X-Ray department, laboratories of tissues and dentures, sterilization department, emergency department, as well as specialized pediatric and special-needs clinics.

These clinics serve two purposes — provide dental treatment to citizens and residents of both genders and also college students with an intensive training as partial requirement for their graduation.

He said the clinics are supervised by an extinguished group of faculty members who practice the profession and provide consultancy. He added that the clinics receive around 100 cases daily and they require various services such as filling, extraction, nerve and root treatment, gum treatment as well as fixed and removable prosthodontics. He stressed that all services are provided free of charge and noted that the clinics are open for patients from Sunday to Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Dr. Hassan Shaibah, BMC dean, said that the college has signed agreements with charitable organizations and orphanages to treat their patients.

"This is our social responsibility and our role to serve the community we live in,” he said, adding that these clinics will positively contribute to quality of health services and definitely enrich the students' academic and clinical experiences in order to prepare graduates with high standards to meet the needs of their community.

In the same context, Sobhi Batterjee, chairman of the board of trustees, said that the college has always been keen on providing its students with all opportunities of success and academic qualifications by means of distinguished academic staff as well as highly-equipped facilities that meet international measures.
