A delegation of businessmen and executives from Saudi Arabia visited India recently to explore business opportunities.

Organized jointly by the Consulate General of India and the Saudi-Indian Business Network (SIBN), the delegation was led by Ghazi Binzagr of Binzagr Group and Faysal Alaquil, CPC director of business development and head of CSR.

Indian Consul General in Jeddah Faiz Ahmad Kidwai described the visit as significant and said: “It will strengthen and cement the good ties that currently exist between our two countries.”

Alaquil said: “We recently established a limited liability company registered in Mumbai named CPC India for Industrial Development.” This new company will be working on three parallel lines under the umbrella of the holding company in Saudi Arabia, the core business being development of industrial parks.

Alaquil added: “CPC has formed a partnership with a large Indian company (IL&FS India) and is now carrying out the due technical and legal surveys for acquiring lands before starting the work. CPC-India will also start with a precast factory and a ready-mix plant to expand its operation according to the market needs and requirements”.

During the visit, the visiting delegation met with the Indian minister of state for external affairs attended a meeting of the Saudi ambassador and commercial attache in India. The delegation later met with the Indian minister of commerce & industry and visited a number of companies specialized in infrastructure development and real estate developments, along with a special visit to the Indian Islamic Cultural Center in Delhi and the Dainik Bhaskar Group, described as the largest newspaper and media publishing house.

After the visit, Alaquil said: “It is mutually beneficial to build bridges between the two counties, but what is more important is to maintain these bridges for a sustainable development.”
