The professional role played by Indian chartered accountants in Saudi Arabia for their respective companies was highlighted at a recent event in Jeddah.

K. Rahman Khan, member and deputy chairman Rajya Sabha and former Indian union minister of minority affairs at a function organized in Jeddah, also appreciated the activities being conducted by Saudi Arabia (Jeddah) Chapter of Institute of Chartered Accountant of India.

The chapter honored Rahman Khan at the event.

General secretary Sajjadali Gulamhussein welcomed K. Rahman Khan and fellow members.

To commemorate the occasion in honor of Rahman Khan, who also belongs to the CA fraternity, a presentation was given by Abdulrehman Merchant, former chairman and founder member of Jeddah chapter on its activities from its formation in 1990 till date.

The chapter is also completing its silver jubilee year in 2015.

Chairman Nadeem Bhamla thanked Rahman Khan for accepting the chapter’s invitation and being present on the occasion.

He also appreciated him for sharing his life experiences in his professional as well as political field on the role being played by Indian chartered accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for their contributions to society back in India.

In his speech, Rahman Khan thanked Jeddah chapter for inviting him to the gathering of the CA fraternity and appreciated the activities being conducted by the chapter in conducting technical sessions for the benefit of members despite several constraints.

He pointed out that Indian chartered accountants contributed immensely to the success of their companies.

They also also helped to educate, train, support and encourage young Saudi nationals in the field of finance, accounting and auditing.

This in turn will enable Saudi nationals as members of Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountant (SOCPA) to occupy senior positions.
