King Fahd University (KFU) conducted its fifth annual technical exchange meeting in Dhahran, which focused on rotating equipment.

KFU’s Vice Rector Suhail Abduljawad opened the meeting featuring speakers from the Kingdom, Qatar and Holland.

Sadara was the sponsor of the meeting, which was organized by KFU and Saudi Council of Engineers.

The meeting provided a platform for rotating equipment engineers to exchange their knowledge and experience of the rotating equipment.

The technical discussion related to rotating equipment maintenance, design modification, troubleshooting, and operation.

Aside from the technical presentations, international companies showcased their latest products in this field.

The participants were from water distillation, oil and gas, petrochemicals, power generation and other fields.

According to Abdullah Balhaddad of Saudi Council of Engineers, the meeting grew sharply in terms of participation in the last five years and this necessitated the shifting of the meeting venue from KFU to SciTech in Alkhobar.

Abdullah Balhaddad invited all engineers to participate in the next meeting scheduled in 2017.
