Mobily concluded on Saturday the activities of Mobily Forum for App Developers 2014 in Riyadh by naming five prize-winners after their apps passed the voting phase and jury selection.

Sami Nashwan, chief consumer officer, presented the competition prizes to the five winners. The first won SR100,000 for his Index application, the second won SR70,000 for his Summary Pro application, the third won SR50,000 for his Arrows Puzzle Game application, the fourth won SR30,000 for his Qur’an Star application and the fifth won SR 20,000 for his Shabak application.

Nashwan stated that Mobily believes that the developers’ creativity in the field of applications will contribute significantly to enrich the Arab and Islamic content with applications that would add to the life of Mobily subscribers.

Nashwan stressed that this annual forum has become a prominent headline in the world of mobile phone applications and an opportunity for each creator and developer looking to share his innovative ideas with a group of developers. In this respect, Mobily seeks to inspire and motivate all those interested in the world of applications from all the different platforms and bring them all together under one roof.

The forum was attended by prominent app developers in the region. Several topics were discussed, the most notable being the discovery of strategies to make it available for developers to turn their apps into a source of profit.

Jihad Al-Ammar of Mobily Ventures said ideas assisting the app developers could succeed in getting financial support; such applications could also

help companies to attract investors.

During the forum activities, Tamer Karaeen, Ahmad Jadallah, Mohammed Al-Qadi and Nawaf Al-Ghamdi reviewed the most popular applications in the Middle East and highlighted the lessons they learned during the development and marketing of their applications.
